Statement
The Colour of Equality
My work explores the idea of equality through nature’s transformative process, where all entities—living or non-living—ultimately adopt a brown hue and textured surface as they decay. This final state, though seemingly mundane, symbolizes the Creator’s impartiality, dissolving distinctions and revealing unity.
With a background in zoology, I am drawn to the anatomy and textures of dry fish. Their desiccated, fragile forms expose nature’s raw power of transformation. By depicting these surfaces in earthy tones, I invite reflection on life, death, and the beauty within decay.
I challenge conventional perceptions of beauty and invite the viewers to re-think upon the social constructs that bring in hierarchy and division.
Blending scientific observation with expression, my practice is a dialogue, evoking emotion and offering a deeper understanding of the shared essence that unites all existence.
